Northwind Raises £6M to Put Financial Reporting in the Hands of Operators
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MANCHESTER, 30 June 2026 — Northwind, the reporting platform used by more than 900 finance teams, today announced a £6 million Series A led by Aldgate Ventures, with participation from existing investors Pennine Capital and a group of angel investors from the accounting software industry.
The company will use the funding to triple its engineering team and to launch a self-serve tier aimed at finance teams of fewer than ten people.
Northwind's platform replaces the spreadsheet exports most finance teams still rely on, connecting directly to accounting and billing systems and producing board-ready reports without a data engineer in the loop. Customers report cutting their monthly close from nine days to four.
"Every finance team we met was doing the same thing: exporting to a spreadsheet, fixing it by hand, and hoping nobody found the error later," said Dana Whitfield, co-founder and CEO of Northwind. "We are not trying to replace the accountant. We are trying to give them back the fortnight a year they spend reconciling exports."
"Northwind has the rare combination of deep domain knowledge and genuine engineering discipline," said Marcus Osei, Partner at Aldgate Ventures. "Their retention numbers are the best we have seen in the category."
Northwind was founded in 2023 and now employs 24 people across Manchester and Lisbon. The self-serve tier opens for early access in September 2026.
